Sushi Date Night

We went out to dinner to a restaurant called Toppii that features sushi on a conveyor belt.  We walked instead of going in the car because in Japan you are not allowed to drive after drinking alcohol. Ted had been to a similar type restaurant in the US, but this was my first experience with moving sushi.

You watch what goes by and pick the plate you want off the conveyor belt.

Pink plates are 105 yen, solid red plates are 130 yen, and red plates with a stripe are 240 yen.

If you want something that you don’t see on the moving belt, you ask for it and they make it to order. We ended our meal with this made to order ice cream sundae.

When you are all done, they add up your plates and beer mugs and tell you how much to pay. The food was good and it was fun.

Parting Garden Shot
Our neighbors told us about the community garden and have a space near ours. When we went out yesterday afternoon they were working on their plot. Their two year old son, who is good with the snow shovel, is also very helpful in the garden.

I've eaten at a couple of restaurants like that in Melbourne in the past. I wonder if they still exist - they were fun!
